106 corporates entrants and 1,800 attendees turned out for the 2015 Annual Charity Yachting Regatta on Sydney Harbour this year. Assetlink was proud to fly the flag aboard MH118 Sirius, placing first of the 16 yachts in division 5. A truly enjoyable day, with incredible atmosphere Assetlink was thrilled to be able to be part of such an event - especially supporting such a fantastic organisation.
Funds raised on the day are being put towards a project that is close to our hearts: The PIF House program - Providing accommodation for homeless youth.
$520,000 was raised exceeding the target of $480,000 earmarked for four houses at Dundas for Wesley Mission.
PIF House's accommodate up to ten homeless young people who need temporary relief in a halfway house, getting them back on their feet and helping them back into society through education in; cooking, cleaning, and budget management - including paying bills, so that a tenancy is sustainable once they move onto private rental.
We see this to be a particularly important project with the number of children using homeless services increasing by around 15,000 in the last couple of years.
With young people under the age of 25 making up half of the homeless population in Australia, the work that the Property Industry Foundation does must be continued.
