The OSPAs are designed to recognise and celebrate the successes of outstanding performers across the security sector. Winners were announced and presented with their awards at the prestigious Australian Security Industry Awards Ceremony and dinner held on Thursday, 19 October at the River Room, Crown Melbourne.

Outstanding In-House Security Manager Award

Noah Magnus was nominated for this award by Assetlink, for the exceptional work he has undertaken on site at Erina Fair Shopping Centre, to improve safety and security in the area. Approximately 1,500 youths are supported through the on-site and community programs which Noah is involved in each year.

Noah’s Training Awareness Program engages with youth that have been banned from Erina Fair, to establish better working relationships through teaching these young people about appropriate behaviours and consequences. Their learnings have ultimately resulted in positive social outcomes including a reduction in incidents on site, and improved relationships through the community and Local Council.

Noah also founded a Rising Stars Employment Strategy initiative, providing training sessions to assist young people to find gainful employment; and creating employment pathways into security and retail at locations like Erina Fair. In addition, a Rising Stars Empowerment free community Martial Arts program which empowers young people to rise above adversity and represent Australia in Martial Arts championships.

Outstanding In-House Security Team Award

The security team at Casuarina Square, led by Security & Community Liaison Manager Scott Flanagan, was nominated by Assetlink for this Award following the team’s new way of delivering security services at Casuarina Square, which has been integral in the improvements to incident reporting on site, as well as the support they have established from local authorities.

The team has also undertaken numerous works to address community and social issues both at Casuarina Square and within the local community. To ensure community support, the team has established strong relationships with local law enforcement, a youth mental health organisation, and Larrakia Nation. They have also been continually involved in community groups and initiatives such as NT Government, Local Council, local schools, retailer engagement forums, and Northern Territory Police’s Youth Diversion Scheme.

We congratulate Noah, Scott and the team at Casuarina for these outstanding achievements.
